The clamping bench of the BT series is made for the longitudinal welding of circular/rectangular ferrules and flat plates both with butt joint, thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 10 mm and lengths from 500 mm to 6000 mm. The applicable welding technologies are MIG/MAG, TIG, PLASMA and SUBMERGED ARC.

The structure of the system has been studied and created with particular attention to ergonomics and practicality of use by the operator; the color touchscreen of the numerical control is placed on an adjustable console as well as the bi-manual control buttons are placed in front of the operator, allowing easy management of the system.

The heart of the system is the ferrule support made of chromium-zirconium copper alloy which gives it considerable resistance to wear and at the same time allows, through the use of pneumatically controlled pressure combs, to achieve the "chill-shunt" effect, i.e. the ability to uniformly absorb and dissipate the heat generated by the welding process along the joint in order to eliminate distortions, ensure uniform penetration and control shrinkage. The support is also complete with channels for the passage of the coolant with relative flow sensor and groove with the introduction of the protective gas on the reverse to prevent oxidation of the weld pool and favor full penetration depending on the welding technologies used.

The plant is managed by the numerical control with color touchscreen operator interface (complete with USB for the remote assistance service via the internet) from which the following parameters are set:

Weld length

Welding speed

Departure delay

Weld end fading

Reverse gaseous protection

Superior gas shield

Spot welding

Spot weld in opposite direction

Welding programs recall (where foreseen by the generator)

Cold wire (speed, starting delay and wire withdrawal when the arc is extinguished)

Arc Voltage Control (as second axis of the numerical control) keeps the stick out of the torch constant in TIG and PLASMA.

The automatic locking bench arises from a technical evolution of the standard one following the implementation of mechanical systems for loading, aligning, locking and welding ferrules.

The work cycle of this type of plant requires the operator to only introduce the ferrule which is supported both below and laterally. From this moment on, all the phases (longitudinal and transversal alignment, locking and welding) are carried out automatically through a series of hydraulically operated mechanical devices controlled in position by the PLC of the .

During these phases the operator is free to load/unload another similar plant or to prepare a ferrule for welding (calendering) or to carry out others related to the production cycle of the final product. At the end of the welding cycle, the system releases the knob for manual unloading and automatically resets itself for a new work cycle.
