Irregular Tank Circumferential Automatic Welding Machine

(1)The special-shaped tank girth automatic welding machine adopts computer control technology, PLC control technology, microelectronics and frequency conversion technology to make the girth welding one-time forming, suitable for automatic welding of various regular and irregular tank girth seams. In plasma welding, single-sided welding and double-sided molding can be realized in the suspended state, and aluminum cans and stainless steel cans can be welded.

(3)Operating principle

The special welding machine for irregular tank is suitable for automatic welding of circumferential seam and longitudinal seam outside tanks such as regular tanks, oval tanks, and rectangular tanks (smooth edge transition). The welding head can be raised and lowered in a wide range with the gantry operating platform to meet the processing requirements of workpieces of various sizes and specifications; the turret is set to a fixed axis height, which is mechanically adjusted by the headstock, tailstock, and inline screw It is composed of clamps, tailstock anti-backward movement mechanism and other parts.

Longitudinal seam welding mode: the rotary frame rotates to drive the workpiece to rotate, and after the longitudinal seam to be welded is rotated to the top of the tank or to a favorable welding position, the rotary frame does not move, the workpiece does not move, and the welding torch moves along the track with the gantry for longitudinal seam welding. The welding speed is steplessly adjustable.

Rotate the welding torch by 25-35 degrees when connecting the sub-beam and the tank body for longitudinal seam welding, or the rotating frame drives the workpiece to rotate the welding seam to a favorable welding position, the rotating frame and the workpiece do not move, and the gantry drives the welding torch to walk along the track for welding. The sub-beam and the front end of the tank body are connected to the variable section of the longitudinal seam. This special machine cannot be welded and needs to be welded manually.

Circumferential seam welding mode: The gantry travels along the track, which can realize the movement and adjustment of the welding head in the axis direction of the workpiece. After moving to the position of the outer circumferential Seam to be welded, the rotating frame drives the workpiece to rotate to weld the outer circumferential seam.

The front end of the welding head is equipped with a track tracker, which is attached to the surface of the workpiece and has its own drive system, which can drive the welding head to move in the opposite direction along the outer edge of the workpiece, and keep the lateral position of the welding head relatively fixed; control the system adopts PLC intelligent control.

(4) Structural principle

1. Door-shaped welding frame

It is composed of gantry frame, lifting operation platform, walking drive system, lifting drive system and other parts.

The gantry frame adopts a combined welded structure of steel plate and section steel, and is composed of 2 walking end beams, 4 sets of walking rollers, and 1 beam; the end beams and beams are annealed and stress-relieved after welding, and connected by bolts to form an organic Overall; the overall rigidity of the gantry frame is good, the bearing capacity is strong, and it will not deform for a long time.

The lifting operation platform is a steel plate welded box-shaped double-beam structure. There is a guide wheel mechanism between the platform and the end beam of the gantry frame, and the lifting is stable; the lifting platform can meet the processing needs of workpieces with different diameters and specifications through lifting. The platform can carry 2 people. Operators, welding systems and some welding consumables are convenient for operators to perform short-distance welding operations and monitoring. Operators can go up and down and transport welding materials through the ladder of the gantry end beam to facilitate continuous welding operations.

The driving system of the gantry frame is installed in the walking end beam of the gantry frame, driven by rack and pinion. Two sets of drive motors are used for bilateral synchronous drive through synchronous control signals, the action is stable and reliable, and the self-locking position can be performed through a large ratio worm gear reducer.

The lifting drive system is installed at both ends of the column of the gantry frame. It is driven by a sprocket-chain mechanism, and the worm gear is decelerated. The guide wheel on the lifting platform is close to the end face of the column to ensure stable lifting.

2. Welding system

The welding system is composed of welding power supply, welding head, welding control system, cross carriage, tracking fine-tuning device, height tracking device, head traveling device and other parts.

The horizontal tracking device is composed of bracket, guide wheel, imported linear guide rail and other parts. The device has good flexibility. When subjected to lateral external force, the tracking device can move freely within the travel range of the linear guide rail.

The automatic adjustment of the welding head up and down is realized by the height tracking device. The height tracking device is installed on the bracket of the horizontal tracking device and can move with the horizontal tracking device; it is composed of linear guide rails, sliders and connecting mechanisms; The electrical limit (photoelectric proximity switch or micro switch) at both ends of the tracking device gives the control system signal, so as to control the lifting of the vertical arm and the left and right movement of the slide plate to realize the automatic adjustment of the welding head up and down; the device is equipped with a traveling device and a cross dragger at the end. The plate and the welding head are loaded, and if there is no upward external force, it will always be at the lowest limit position.

The traveling device is installed on the height tracking slider. When the traveling wheel is pushed up by the surface of the workpiece, it can drive the welding torch to follow the surface of the workpiece; the traveling wheel and the welding torch (conductive tip) maintain an appropriate height to ensure Rational stick-out length during welding; the traveling device has a drive system, which prevents the traveling device from sliding down when encountering a slope through the adhesion of the roller and the surface of the workpiece, and the friction between the roller and the surface of the workpiece realizes the relative movement between the traveling device and the workpiece . When the linear velocity of the workpiece is constant, the linear velocity of the roller is constant and is opposite to the rotation direction of the workpiece, the machine head should always be at the highest point of the workpiece; when the workpiece is shaped and the linear velocity changes, the traveling device will transmit the force to the horizontal and height tracking devices, make the height of the welding torch and the surface of the workpiece relatively fixed to realize automatic tracking.
